What I Didn’t Like:

• There’s definitely “white knight” syndrome running through this one. The treating doctors are male, most of the patients mentioned are female, and the females who work at the facility are treated as sort of hysterical. That all sort of adds to the feeling that the women in this book all need to be saved and the men are going to save them. Not a fan of that message. 
• The ending felt a little rushed. We spent a lot of time building up to that big twist. After it came, we sort of rushed the ending. I wanted a bit more time. 

What I Did Like:

• The twist was well done. Although there were some clues to it, I definitely didn’t have this one all figured out. LOVE that in a mystery/thriller. 
• The method of delivering the story really worked. We have some diary entries and some first hand accounts from the doctor. I like the way it came together to add suspense and depth to the story. 
• That juxtaposition of where you start for chapter one and what you learn immediately upon jumping to the next chapter is exactly what you need to spark a page turner. Right away you want to know what happened. It’s brilliant. 
• The audiobook was really well done.

Who Should Read This One:

• Fans of big plot twists in mystery/thriller books will love trying to figure this one out.

• Really this one is well done and that twist is worth reading for!
