Lethal White by Robert Galbraith

A Mystery/Thriller, 2018 by Mulholland Books, 650 Pages 

What I Didn’t Like:

• Too similar in pattern to the previous books in the series. Robin can’t sort out her confusing feelings, the case is dangerous, and they get involved anyway, and it all sort of wraps up the same way. I’m not saying it’s the same case, just the same pattern. Made it feel more predictable and been-there-done-that.
• The undertones whenever a new character is introduced are very judgy. Judging by appearance, politics, social status. It’s done quietly, but you notice when they all add up.
• Complex solution involves a lot of explanation, which makes it feel cumbersome. 

What I Did Like:

• Overall satisfying mystery. I didn’t have it all figured out.
• Strike. I do like him, as I have through the entire series. He’s a strong character, fascinating in his focus on justice and truth. 

Who Should Read This One:

• Fans of the series will likely continue because Strike is a good character and the mystery is solid (honestly this one has been out for over 4 years at this point so I’m behind the eight ball on getting to it).

My Rating: 3 Stars

• It’s a bit too similar to the previous 3 without adding much to the series but it’s not a bad book.
