What I Didn’t Like:
- The “oh no he’s so cute” stuff is a bit annoying, although not excessive.
- The voice feels awkward and fake, more like an adult trying to write like a teenager than an actual teenager.
- I didn’t love our MC. I think it worked out overall, since there were characters I did like, but that’s worth noting.
What I Did Like:
- Great concept. If superheroes existed it seems reasonable to assume any government is going to want/need to control those powers.
- Believable brainwashed by the system character. When she told the story of the party and the people who would lose their homes if her parents and their favorite cause won, I knew this was brilliant.
- Not looking ahead to what this story was about means I got to be surprised when it turned out different than I imagined. I love to be surprised so that was great!
Who Should Read This One:
- Anyone intrigued by the idea of a space dystopian book surrounding a prison for superheroes. I mean, that grabs your attention right there!
