Book Notes That Didn’t Make the Video
The May Day Murders
- I downloaded this one YEARS ago on my Nook. Then I was one of the unlucky people who lost their entire Nook library recently. They’ve been unable to get any of those books back. So, I purchased this one as an ebook for my Kindle in order to read it for the shield challenge this month.
- I hate how disappointed I was in this book. I really, really wanted to like it. Boo.
- Anyway, this one is available here.
Fate of the Vulture
- This was an electronic ARC I received from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was lucky enough to be on the ARC team for this entire trilogy and, quite honestly, it was one of the best things I’ve read in 2020.
- This is a wonderful ending to a trilogy and the slowest of slow burn romances. AMAZING way to tell this tale, and HIGHLY recommended.

Where the Crawdads Sing
- I borrowed this audiobook from my local library app. Fair warning: the narrator speaks slowly (which works for the southern feel but not for my ears which like reading fast). I had to crank it up to 2x speed.
- While I didn’t mention it in the video, we all know this one is a sought after title everyone was raving about in 2018 and 2019. Sometimes I’m afraid of those. In this case, it worked out. You just have to go in knowing that this is a blending of two genres (more on that in the video).

The Dream Thieves
- I borrowed this ebook from my local library app. I’ve had it on hold since I read the first one so when it came available I just had to pop it into the rotation.
- I don’t think I mentioned the sarcastic voice behind the text in the video. These sentences are written with like an implied sarcasm or snark. It TOTALLY works for me! I think I missed that the first time around because I was listening to the audiobook. If you like snarky sarcasm … get the print version and enjoy!

Juror #3
- Borrowed this book from the library on a whim. Basically, my library reopened for browsing and I went CRAZY. I think I checked out 6 books, most of which just caught my eye as I walked by. I have NO self control in a library. NONE.
- James Patterson is such a controversial writer nowadays. The use of cowriters (which this one makes use of) combined with the shocking pace he churns out books make some people turn their noses up at him. But at the end of the day, the man can pen a book that holds your interest.
