Today a book review video dropped on my YouTube channel. I’ll embed that video for you at the end of this post. But I wanted to take a second to give you a little more information. Sort of a behind-the-scenes kind of thing. Think of it as a companion or add-on post. Thanks for being here!
Some Statistics
Age Categories: 1 Young Adult, 4 Adult
- This is pretty typical for what I’ve been reading lately. I can’t really feel guilty about this. After all, I am an adult.
Author’s Gender: 4 Female, 1 Male
- Way unbalanced. Oops
Genres: 1 Fantasy, 1 Horror, 1 Romance, 2 Mystery/Thriller
- Typical. I’m glad I’m getting back into horror (even if this one was a “light” horror).
Indie Authors: 2 Yes, 3 No
- That’s as close to even as I can get when analyzing 5 books.
Total Pages Read: 1,406
- Average length per book: 281.2 pages (a bit on the short side)
Ratings: One of each 1 star-5 stars
- WEIRD how that worked out
Publication Dates: 2014, 2017, 2018, 2018, 2019
- Nothing really far down the back list this time around.
Book Notes that didn’t make the video
Borderlands Prelude
- This was a review request.
- I had a paperback copy of this one mailed to me all the way from Europe. Now that I’m done with it I’ll be donating it someplace or using it in a giveaway.

The Wife Between Us
- I listened to this one as an audio book from my library.
- This one was recommended by Goodreads after my five star rating of Sometimes I Lie. Sometimes I Lie was better. Honestly, I’m hoping this month all of you fine readers will have suggestions based on my five star reads so I don’t have to trust Goodreads again!

- Or, if you prefer, grab yourself a copy of the book this recommendation was based on (the one I gave 5 stars to) here
The Winter People
- I listened to this one as an audio book from my library.
- I added this one to my TBR after reading Promise Not to Tell by this same author. I rated that book 4 stars and genuinely loved the writing. This one was disappointing, to say the least.

Temptation
- I do NOT remember why this one got added to my TBR, probably because it was over 2 years ago. But, since it earned its shield for being the book on my TBR the longest, I took the challenge to read it in January.
- I grabbed this one as an e-book from Amazon.

Bits & Pieces
- I scored this paperback in the Indie Book Box before that went out of business. I’ve had it to read for quite some time. But, you know how it is, the books that are review requests take priority. This one kept falling back. I decided to make time for it in January.
- I loved the cover! Still do. In fact, it has more meaning now that I’ve finished the book.
- My husband may read this one and then it will be dropped into the donation or giveaway pile.

Need a Review?
Remember, if you have a recommendation based on something you read here or saw on the video drop the title in the comments. Especially if that recommendation is based on the review for Bits & Pieces, which is my most recent 5 Star read!
If you want me to review something you had a part in bringing into the world (either as an author or a publisher) you can submit that title here.
The Video
Thanks for reading. Here’s that video I kept alluding to.
