Reading Habits Tag

Today a fun tag called the Reading Habit Tag dropped on my YouTube channel. Basically this tag is 11 questions about my Reading Habits answered honestly.

For fun, here’s answers as they would have been during a different time in my life. I’m pretending to answer these SAME questions as a teenager honestly, accurately, and to the best of my memory. Enjoy.

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

If I need peace and quiet (aka away from my sister) I read in my room sitting on my bed. If I don’t want to miss anything or if no one is home I sit by the window in the living room.

Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Bookmark. I have a couple of favorites. One is my Garfield bookmark. It’s one of those plastic cheap ones you get at book fairs. My Nana bought it for me. It has a phone number scribbled on the back of it and the little strings fell off, but it’s still my favorite.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/certain amount of pages?

I stop at the end of a chapter. There are monsters who just stop reading?

Do you eat or drink while reading?

If my parents don’t yell at me to put the book down, yes.

Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

No, I don’t think so. Of course, if my parents are watching TV and I’m in the living room I can ignore it.

One book at a time or several at once?

One at a time unless I’m assigned one for school. I don’t give up my fun reading just to read the required stuff.

Reading at home or everywhere?

Pretty much everywhere. I try not to be rude and I can’t figure out how to walk and read … but everywhere else.

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Silently

Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

Only in a required reading that is boring me (I’m looking at you, Heart of Darkness).

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Keep it new if at all possible. Break it at perfectly spaced intervals if necessary.

Do you write in your books?

Only the ones for school.
