Whew, was anyone else starting to get worried that I would drop the ball on this poetry challenge so early into the year? No, just me? Alright, fair. You all have more faith in me than I do, apparently.
You’ll remember I’ve challenged myself to get back into writing more poetry in 2025. I kept the stakes low to avoid burning myself out. I vowed to write 12 poems, one per month. In January, I wrote and posted it 7 days into the month. In February it happened in the same time frame. This month I struggled to get myself into the mindset for poetry. If I’m being honest, the Slasher WIP is taking a lot of brain power and time. So, that’s my excuse.
But today, the 19th, I decided to try and find a prompt to get my creativity flowing. This time I found some great prompts from @promptsbyjasmine over on Instagram. Many of the week 4 March prompts grabbed my attention but there was one that really spoke to that feeling I’d been having with the Slasher WIP.
So, without further ado, a sort of freeform poem brought to you by the prompt “how many chapters will it take?”

There we have it, poem #3 for 2025.
See you again soon!
