So, naturally, I decided to go with a blackout poem.
When I started this poetry challenge in January of 2020 I thought it would be fun to get back in touch with the art form I’d loved so much as a teenager.
So instead I turned to a writing prompt and found a simple one that merely said "tell a true story".
But I also participate in a challenge over on Instagram (@authortabathashipley) where I draft a poem based on a prompt and post it up same day with very little editing.
I have a character in a current work-in-progress who makes the observation that "sometimes when you push someone away, they actually go." It sparked a poem. Enjoy! (But, as always, don't steal.
