2024 Wrap Up and 2025 Goals

We successfully made it through 2024.

2025 is upon us.

As promised, I’ve been doing a lot of analyzing and thinking about what 2025 should look like for me. But, before we get into all that, let’s take a quick look at how 2024 ended.

  • Published In Trust We Fall.
    • I talked about this in 2023. I knew this was going to be a one book year. That’s unfortunate, but it has a lot to do with the fact that I had left myself a serious lack of finished works in progress. This is what I had to work with. So, I’m proud of myself for making sure I got a book out in 2024, despite everything. This is a good one, too.
  • Wrote 145,809 words
    • This isn’t bad. It’s higher than 2023, which was what I wanted, but it could still be higher overall. I’ve had years where this is a single quarter. I can do better. However, I am proud of how many words I managed to add to each project.
      • 52366 words were added to the Apocalypse Project
      • 3500 were added to the already drafted YA Contemporary
      • 20500 were added to In Trust We Fall before publication
  • 200 Chapters edited
    • Most of these were the edits to In Trust We Fall, obviously.
  • Sold 116 books
    • I’ve never really tracked that before. I’ve never sat down and looked at the overall total from all channels. We’ll call this the number to beat in 2025.

Great question.

First and foremost, I need to get myself back in the habit of writing ALL THE TIME. I need to make myself a writing schedule, an editing schedule, and a publishing schedule. I’ve let myself get a little lax in the last two years. Really, that was a result of starting to feel that burnout. I was fighting back against that. Now that I’ve been able to relax and have fun with writing again, it’s time to find a true balance.

Next, I have to make it a priority to edit some or all of the finished books. I’m going to put all of them on the list, but I know that is a seriously lofty goal and it might change.

Then, I need to focus on new things. For the blog, for the writing, and for myself.

Lastly, I will keep up the progress journal as it’s been so far. I do plan to make some small changes to the monthly checklist in order to help myself really focus on goals in a given month. But the progress pages are staying the same.

Here’s those goals in an official sort of capacity (so you can help hold me accountable).

Star background with text overlay. 2025 Goals:
Create at least 2 new story ideas
Completely edit the YA Contemporary
Completely edit the Slasher WIP
Completely edit the Romance
Completely draft the Apocalypse Project
Full publishing schedule for 2025/2026
Post to the blog three times per month
Poetry at least one per month

So, that’s the rundown. I managed to make a lot of progress in 2024 and we’ll keep up that momentum (and more) in 2025. Hang out, make sure you’re following the blog for updates, and let’s do this thing!
