February Reviews 1

I’ve finished my first 5 book reviews for February. Let’s dive into the details.

Statistics

Age Category: 5 A

Well that’s an interesting little accident, isn’t it? Remember, these are all the books I’d scheduled myself to read in February. I honestly didn’t notice they were all written for adults until RIGHT THIS SECOND.

Genres: 4 Fantasy, 1 Paranormal

1 of those fantasy books is arguably mystery/thriller with fantasy elements. But, that’s not up to me. Still … whoa, that was heavily fantasy.

Indie Authors: 4 Y, 1 N

YAY!

Total Pages Read: 1,797

Average Pages per Book: 359

Well, that’s long. No wonder it took me so long to get through this set of five books. Maybe I shouldn’t be beating myself up about the weeks this took.

Ratings: 2, 3, 3, 4, 5

Good little crop of books, yeah?

Book Notes That Didn’t Make the Video

The Beast of Wheeler Ridge

  • This was an ebook sent to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
  • I’ve actually read other things by this author both under this name and under some of his other pen names in various genres.

Donn’s Legacy

  • This was a physical book sent to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. My copy is signed. Alright, that first sentence was just a fact … the second sentence was fangirl bragging.
  • I ADORE this trilogy. It’s taking a place of honor on my bookshelf and it will be one I reread. It’s INCREDIBLY well written.

Gypsies, Tramps and Weeia

  • This was an electronic copy the author sent me in exchange for an honest review.
  • The book itself is classified as fantasy with a sub-genre of paranormal. While it does fit that because weeia are fantasy creatures who are NOT human … that is not the focus of this main plot. I can’t say enough about how you have to know what you’re getting into here.

Caerule

  • I was working from a paperback ARC sent to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. Minor flex … it’s also signed. FANGIRL SQUEAL
  • This sequel is better than its predecessor in every way. The representation is kicked up a notch, the action is intense, the characters are deeper, and the themes are amazing.

Good Omens

  • I purchased a used copy of this one at my favorite little indie bookshop (ahem: https://www.rbookmark.com) when it became available because a friend keeps screaming at me to read this one.
  • I started this one as audiobook (because I was stressing about time) and ended up devouring the print version to finish. Honestly? Book versions are amazing.
